Rockford Manor received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to purchase two Chrome Book Mobile Trolleys for our teachers and students to use in the classroom.
We also have two brand new computer labs. Both labs are very popular among students and staff. In Leaving Certificate, all careers classes are held in the labs to help research college choices, courses and other future paths. All our students are given their own school accounts when entering school. Our school uses Microsoft Teams as our online platform and all digital teaching and learning is accessed through these accounts.
Both the labs and the two trolleys of Chrome Books are a great support for our Junior Cycle students when completing their CBAs.
