TY Students Skate Into the Festive Spirit!
Our Transition Year students recently enjoyed a truly weird, wonderful, and wintry day out, packed with laughter, adventure, and just a little bit of wobbling — all under the watchful eyes of the brave Ms. Behan and even braver Ms. Thornton!
The day kicked off with ice-skating, where students tested their balance, courage, and leg strength on the slippery surface. Some took to the ice like natural professionals, while others perfected the art of the graceful slide-and-grab-the-barrier. A special mention must go to our German exchange students, who were simply AMAZING on the ice — gliding with speed, skill, and confidence, leaving the rest of us in awe!
From there, the group chilled out in Dundrum shopping centre, where the festive spirit was in full swing. Students soaked up the Christmas atmosphere, enjoyed some well-earned shopping time, and embraced the buzz of the season with great enthusiasm. There was plenty of excitement, bargains spotted, and Christmas lists quietly updated.
The trip continued with a visit to the cinema, where the TYs watched Zootopia 2 — a film that truly went down a bomb with the students. Laughter, cheers, and plenty of animated discussions followed as everyone enjoyed this strange and wonderful cinematic adventure together.
By the time the buses turned for home, the day’s excitement had caught up with everyone. Students were happily exhausted, and while energy levels were low, spirits remained high. Thankfully, despite all the skating, shopping, and supervising, the teachers survived too.
