The Model United Nations programme aims to encourage young people to involve themselves in the issues and problems confronting the world today.
MUN encourages students to develop an understanding of current global challenges. Participation in the programme allows the girls to build their confidence in public speaking and to grow a life-long interest in international affairs.
Students take on the role of political leaders. They debate global issues by participating in simulations of international diplomatic forums such as the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly.
MUN offers a unique opportunity for the girls to improve their skills in areas such as:
- Negotiation and consensus building
- The art of diplomacy
- Personal responsibility
- Independent learning
- Cultural empathy
- Relationship building with students from other cultures and nationalities
