What a night at the TY musical “The Wedding Singer”! From start to finish, the show was a joyful explosion of 1980s fashion, big hair, energetic dancing and brilliant comedic cameos. The audience was transported straight back to the era — complete with a muscle-flexing Hulk Hogan appearance and an impressively moody Billy Idol that had everyone laughing.
Our stars of the show, Maja and Alfie, were simply fabulous. Their stage presence, dancing and singing carried the performance with real confidence and charm. They brought huge energy to every scene and kept the audience completely engaged.
Sara and Mark were a brilliant duo. Their love-to-hate-each-other dynamic was played perfectly, and the spark between them made their scenes so entertaining to watch.
Matilda delivered a standout moment as the psychotic ex-bride-to-be. Her stage presence was incredible and she had the audience in stitches, earning a huge round of applause after her very first song.
A special mention has to go to Amanda and Oscar. Their rap is something I will never forget — even if I try very hard! Some things you just can’t unsee… side-splittingly funny and completely hilarious.
Irsa was fantastic in her role, hilariously obsessed with money, wealth and appearances. She played the role of Mum brilliantly — if you could call it parenting!
And while the individual performances were superb, the real heartbeat of the show was the dance ensemble. Their energy, enthusiasm, smiles and laughter lit up the stage. The dancers brought an electric rhythm to the entire performance, all led brilliantly by Mariya, who naturally drew the audience’s eyes whenever she stepped onto the stage.
The beat, the rhythm and the joy of the night were unforgettable. Huge congratulations to everyone involved — cast, crew and teachers — on such a fantastic production. What a show! I cannot wait until next year!!!!
