Sixth Year Art Trip to Russborough House

Sixth Year Art students went on an Art Trip to Russborough House in Co. Wicklow on Tuesday, Nov. 11th.

Russborough House is a great example of Georgian architecture and the students were fortunate to get a guided tour from Mary who knows the place inside and out.

Students also got to test their problem solving skills in the maze and (being 6th years!!) had fun in the playground!

Musical Evening

Rhythm of Rockford – a musical evening, was held on October 23rd.

The event was a great success all round, with some excellent performances.

The evening was organised by TYP students and showed what fantastic talent there is among student and staff in Rockford Manor. Acts included Indian and Irish dance, rap, singing and choral performance.

The night was very well supported with 376 tickets sold and €1,350 raised for the music department. Many thanks to all who supported the show. A big thank you also to Ms. Behan, Ms. Hennigan and Ms. O’Toole for all their hard work.

A word from Head Girl Frances Labastida

A very warm welcome back to everyone!

A special hello and welcome to our incoming 1st years who are making their big transition from primary to secondary school. I had the pleasure of meeting the first years early in the week before school began along with our deputy head girl Alanna and our senior prefects Erica, Becky, Amy, Hannah, Megan and Rhea. The first years are a lively and lovely group of girls and I hope they are settling in well.

I want to also welcome back our teachers and thank them in advance for all the hard work they will be doing this year and the work they have been doing with all of us students for the past few years in Rockford.

A huge congratulations to our 2014 Leaving Cert and Junior Cert participants who achieved amazing and well deserved results! I wish the Junior Cert and Leaving Cert 2015 participants the very best of luck this year for their upcoming exams!

That’s all from me. I hope everyone has an enjoyable and fulfilling school year and once again, welcome back!
